Bowl for Rhinos

Houston, zoo, events, family

One of the most beloved attractions at the Houston Zoo is the African Rhinos. Thanks to recent zoo renovations, families can now take a break from their zoo adventures and dine in the Serengeti up close to these amazing creatures.

But, the zoo’s support of these endangered Rhinos does not stop there! In an effort to improve the critical situation facing Africa's black rhino, the Houston Zoo has joined forces with the International Rhino Foundation (IRF) for the 2011 Annual Bowling for Rhinos family night out event.

The Bowling for Rhinos event will be held on Friday, June 24 from 6 to 10 pm at the Palace Bowling Lanes on Bellaire Blvd in Houston and all proceeds will go towards the support and return of this species to Botswana.

There will be two sessions of bowling from either 6 to 8 pm or 8 to 10 pm. The entry fee with bowling is $25 for adults, $10 for kids and free for children 4 and younger. Entry fee with bowling will include food, unlimited bowling for two hours, souvenir water bottle, free shoe and ball rental, and access to the auction and raffle. Other non-bowling entry options are also available online.

Make plans now to bring the whole family out to the lanes and engage in a bit of friendly competition for these highly endangered Black Rhinos!
