The Houston Zoo proudly announced the birth of Asali, a female Masai giraffe. She is the first baby to be born in the Zoo’s new African Forest, which opened in December 2010. Mom, Tyra, delivered her Asali just after 5 p.m. on March 4 at the McGovern Giraffe Exhibit at The African Forest following a long 14-month pregnancy.
